Pathfinders: A Quiet Place

Our Pathfinders series is a collection of guest posts from Adventurers all around the world. If you'd like to contribute, please send an email to theguys@dyerandjenkins.com. Today's post is by our friend Courtney Steeves.

Two years ago I moved to the "Big City".  I was so excited.  Growing up in a small town, I had this idea that moving to the city was going to make all of my dreams come true.  In a way, it did.  This city is filled with such energy and creativity that it allows me many opportunities.  For this I am thankful.  However, now that I live in the city, I cannot help but miss the stillness and quiet of the countryside.

There is something so special about a quiet place.  A place where you may be the only person for miles.  A place that forces you to be close to nature.  A place to gather your thoughts.  You find yourself in these places.  You are simply you, living in that moment and taking in whatever beauty surrounds you.

I now escape down long winding roads to open fields and still forests.  My bags are always packed and my map is always open.  These quiet places allow me the moments I need to collect my thoughts.

It is by exploring a place that reminds me of how big our world really is and of how small we really are, that I find inspiration.  I find inspiration for my writing, my relationships, my way of being.  Find a place that makes your heart full and run towards it.  Having a place that gives you clarity and peace is so incredibly important.
