Mt. Roraima is one of the worlds oldest and most beautiful mountain formations. It’s also a natural border between Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana in South America.
We appreciate and respect the beauty and power of nature and our aim is to inspire anyone who reads this blog to soak as much of it up as possible. After all, we will all die one day and we don’t want to be staring down at a bucket list that is unfulfilled. Basically, we are suggesting that you add this place to your “shit to do before I die” list and hop on a plane to go see it.
If you are an experienced climber, you could scale one of the 400m tall cliffs to get to the top of this thing. Otherwise, you can hike it. The hike takes about two days to accomplish and they do offer guided tours as well.
The mountain has been a staple of mythology and folklore for the locals for many years. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel The Lost World and the "Paradise Falls" in the Pixar movie Up were both inspired by this magical place.
Did we mention that you can also see the Angel Falls while you're there? Talk about something that looks like its straight out of a movie.
