One More Thing: Solo Travel is Scary, but Rewarding

One More Thing is a short daily reading to get you thinking.

Traveling by your self is intimidating, but as with most things we’re afraid of, it can provide so much room for growth. Most people enjoy traveling with groups because they’re afraid to be lonely on the road. The truth is, there are different kinds of loneliness and this particular type can be really good. Intentional loneliness allows us space to breath and be introspective.

People constantly surround us, so our alone time can be special because it’s a break from the norm. It gives us an opportunity for self-discovery. We are all capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for. Oftentimes, we don’t get to truly learn what we’re made of because we’re too scared to cut the safety net of the familiar.

Tip Of The Day: Try and plan one solo trip a year. It doesn’t matter if it’s for a day, weekend, or an entire month. Consider giving yourself some space. You may learn something new.
