Ever heard the saying “Mind over Matter”? I’m sure you have, but have you ever thought about what it means? It’s not about magical mental trickery.
This saying is all about the limits we put on ourselves with our thinking. When we constantly tell ourselves we are incapable of doing something, we actually become incapable. We limit ourselves to the status quo way too often. We make excuses for ourselves so that we feel justified in not taking action.
If we tell ourselves we can’t create something beautiful or achieve something meaningful, we won’t. It’s plain and simple.
The good thing is we can break this bad habit and it’s really a matter of choice. All we have to do is be mindful about our thoughts, plans, and deeds. Every great accomplishment in the history of mankind has been achieved this way. We must first start with the belief that we can achieve our goals, and then we set toward making a plan, and then we get into the action of doing it. One day at a time.
